John Caine began his career as a newscaster and presenter with Granada Television in Manchester. He is an award winning writer and his work has included plays for television, stage and radio. He is also an experienced director. Whilst as a very young writer-in-residence at the Manchester Playhouse Theatre, John directed plays that featured the young Bernard Hill, and the even younger Ben Kingsley, and George Costigan.
John gave a very successful presentation and discussion, to AWL in February 2007, based on his play Mister Lowry, produced at Bristol Old Vic
