The Artistic Director of Shadow Road Productions - a small SW London theatre company that endeavours to bring new and lesser-known works to the stage in original and exciting ways, often in aid of their chosen charities - and a traditionally published children’s writer, Emma King-Farlow is a fan of all forms of storytelling. As such, she is a professional member of The Society of Authors as well as Stage Directors UK, the European Documentary Network and the National Association of Writers in Education.

A writer, director and producer, her work has been performed in a wide range of venues, from the West End to the fringe. Credits include Robin Hood (writer/director/producer, London Wetland Centre), Jesus Christ Superstar (director, fringe), Dreams from the Pit (writer/director/co-producer, Palace Theatre), Californian Lives (director, King’s Head Theatre & OSO Arts Centre), Climate Change (writer, Fortune Theatre) and The Story (director, Theatre503).

She is a deep believer in the power of the arts to open minds, start conversations and bring about change. To that end, in 2016 she founded the mental health awareness festival UNBROKEN. After selling out and receiving some fantastic feedback, the festival has returned bigger and better than before, now including the inaugural UNBROKEN Short Film Prize alongside both the other new events and those that were such a hit last year.
