I remember the parents’ optician telling me I had 20/20 vision. I thought I must be a bit special - until my father told me it meant I could see things twenty feet away that the average person could see twenty feet away. He said 20/10 vision would have been more impressive - able to see things twice as far away. Very few people can, apparently.
Accentuate the positive. My long term memory has actually improved since the sight started going. I’m long sighted in that sense. I can never remember where I left my magnifying glass, but I can still remember sixty years ago as if it were - now. 1960 vision, I call that.
