David Baxter, a self-made millionaire, has just bought himself a large Elizabethan house in the country and has invited people from his past to a housewarming. A number of them come - but is their motive in accepting the invitation just to enjoy a good party and congratulate him on his success? Or are they partly drawn there for other reasons?
