The Narcissus Club

by Hedley England

Read by AWL on 29 November 2010

Two television broadcasters, Charles and Tarquin, decide to go for a bigger bite of the TV cherry, to further their careers and self image, and create a new TV channel. When they advertise for more staff, they are joined by self-deluded and gullible youngster Neil, who craves to see his image on the TV screen. Neil realises that there are two programme styles. Charles’ version of the truth or Tarquin’s desire for the truth - cleverness versus creativity - and the climax comes as Neil presents The Big Story and has an epiphany.
