Brian Spink played Dennis in Carolyn Pertwee’s The Beautiful Couple which was performed at the Hackney Empire as part of our HAWG Showcase in 2002 and he became a member of AWL after that.

Brian was best known for his television work, Riviera Police, Z Cars and Prime Suspect 3. He also worked extensively in theatre, having played leading parts at Nottingham Playhouse, Oxford Playhouse, Liverpool Playhouse, Royal Lyceum Edinburgh, Thorndike Leatherhead and the Old Vic andNational Theatre, working with Sir Peter Hall, Harold Pinter and Franco Ziffirellito name just a few.

Brian Spink Meets The Queen

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II meets the cast of the York Mystery plays, including (r to l) God (Frank Shelley), Satan (Robert Rietty) and Christ (Brian Spink). In 1957, when the Queen came, the weather prevented a performance but the Queen went back-stage anyway.
